A Parallel Voter Tabulation (PVT) done by Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) by 09 hours today on the results of the presidential by-election shows that UPND is leading by more than 150, 000 votes national wide. Sources at TIZ told the Watchdog that Hakainde Hichilema (HH) had more than 900 000 votes while Edgar Lungu had slightly above 700 000 votes. TIZ, like other poll observers and monitors are not allowed publish such compilations until the final results are announced by the ECZ.
The figures by TIZ tally with statistics circulated earlier by other organisations conducting PVT but did not wish to be mentioned to avoid sanctions from ECZ.
The figures relased just after midnight showed that Hakainde Hichilema had 893, 411
while Edger C Lungu had 712,343 with Nevers S Mumba 37,535.
There are a number of organisations conducting PVT ranging from political parties, International and local NGOs, Churches and foreign intelligence services.
