Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) Executive Director Goodwell Lungu has advised political parties to adhere to the electoral code of conduct and avoid charter assassination ahead of this year’s polls.
Speaking on Joy FM radio, Lungu said only when politicians abide by the rule of law can they be seen to be credible leaders.
He appealed to the media to give equal coverage to all aspiring candidates to avoid unnecessary tension in the nation.
Meanwhile, Anti-Voter Apathy Project (AVAP) Director Bonnie Tembo has condemned some sections of the media for their failure to be objective as they deal with political players.
He accused the media of publishing certain articles to campaign for their preferred candidates.
Tembo urged journalists to desist from being subjective as they report on politics and play their role of informing citizens and help foster development.
