RUSSIAN Ambassador to Zambia Konstantin Kozhanov says the best way of finding solutions to the economic crisis in Zambia is by making the right decisions during next year’s general elections. And German envoy Bernd Finke says it is frustrating that Zambia, which has numerous possibilities and talented people, is failing to make progress in fighting poverty.
In an interview on Wednesday, Ambassador Kozhanov said Zambia was surviving with so many difficulties, some of which were imposed by climate change. “For example, Zambia is now surviving with so many difficulties; difficulties concerning the rains, the low water [levels]. So we altogether just have to find some solutions for these very urgent problems concerning climate change,” he said.
When asked: “Zambia is going through an economic crisis right now. The energy crisis, the job losses in the mines, the depreciating kwacha, what suggestions do you have on how Zambia can find solutions to these problems?” Ambassador Kozhanov said the answer lay in the decisions that people will make through the vote next year. “You should make right decision, good decision, proper decision for the next election, that is the better way to find solutions,” he said
