The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) says it has started a probe into electoral graft allegations levelled on former Petauke MP Dora Siliya by the Supreme Court, which nullified her election on June 27.
ACC Director General Roswin Wandi said the former legislator would soon be called for questioning as the ACC is “actively” on the case.
“Our legal team is already working on Ms Siliya’s case following the ruling,” Ms Wandi said. “We are already on the case and we will soon obtain the full judgement from the Supreme Court so that we can thoroughly study it and map a way forward.”
Wandi, a tool of the PF political witchhunt, ’s disclosure comes days after Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu stated that the Supreme Court’s decision to nullify Ms Siliya’s election was to be taken “seriously” following the gravity of the corruption allegations.
“We want the public to know that we are taking this matter [Dora] seriously,” Ms Wandi said “ We cannot disclose the details but we are on the case.”
Ms Siliya was taken to court by PF candidate in the 2011 polls Leonard Banda, who contended that the former broadcaster engaged in a litany of electoral malpractices that influenced the election results in her favour.
Siliya is facing other politically motivated charges by the PF regime.
So many seats have been nullified on account of corrupt activities but Dora Siliya’s case is treated in a special way by the PF. Why is the PF so scared and obsessed with Madam Siliya?
