Attempts by the ruling Patriotic Front administration to prosecute Former Petauke Member of Parliament, Dora Siliya on allegations of wide-spread electoral malpractices has suffered a setback.
This is because the electoral law currently offers her immunity from prosecution following the elapsing of one year from the time the alleged offence was committed.
This is according to the legal brains comprising Eric Silwamba, Joesph Jalasi and Lubinda Linyama that represented the outspoken MMD spokesperson both in the High and Supreme Courts.
He explains that according to the electoral act, attempts to prosecute Ms. Siliya is unachievable on account of being statue barred.
Mrs Siliya lost her Petauke seat through Supreme Court nullification on account of alleged electoral malpractices in the 2011 polls.
