Less than a month after he urged the international community to stay away from the conflict in Congo DR , Edgar Lungu is in South Africa for ‘consultations’ with his counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa on issues related to Congo DR and Lesotho.
Lungu first went to the Botswana border town of Kasane on Saturday before conducting a joint inspection of the Kazungula bridge project with his Botswana and Zimbabwe counterparts but later ‘disappeared from radar’ only to resurrect in South Africa today. His Spokesperson Amos Chanda has remained in Zambia.
There was no prior notice from State House of Lungu’s visit to South Africa after his visit to Botswana.
The PF leader is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Joe Malanji, Presidential Affairs Minister Freedom Sikazwe and State House Private Secretary Daniel Siwo.
