On Saturday, a Shalon bus overturned near Sesheke district killing some people and injuring many others.
The next day, another bus overturned in Chirundu killing eight Zimbabweans and injuring 53 others. The Chirundu accident occurred when a Harare-bound bus burst a tyre just after Kafue Gorge in Zambia.
Zambian police confirmed the accident, saying the King Lion Scania bus overturned along the Chirundu Road and landed on its right flank trapping passengers inside.
The accident occurred at 10 AM.
According to the cops, 27 Zimbabweans are admitted at Kafue Hospital.
The cops said the driver, who was speeding, failed to negotiate a corner resulting in the accident. The driver, identified as Nyamande, was by Sunday evening said to be still at large.
Names and nationalities of the perished and the injured are expected to be released this Monday.
