Two security guards at Mkushi Secondary School were in the early hours of this morning gruesomely killed in cold blood by bandits who were looking for money from the school.
A Police source has told the Watchdog that the bandits must have planned their robbery in anticipation of stealing school fees from the boarding school as the schools are just opening but were unlucky since all the monies were deposited.
The source who could not name the victims said that after the guards were killed, the bandits gained access to some offices at the administration but did not find any cash there. Their bodies have been deposited in the Mkushi district hospitals and no arrests have been made.
She also disclosed that the bandits must be part of the group that has been terrorising Mkushi and Serenje residents and some visitors to some lodges who have been ambushed and huge sums of money grabbed from them. The group is suspected to be living out of the town but working with some locals who have been supllying information to them.
