Two teens defiled in Chadiza

Two teenage girls have been defiled in separate incidences in Chadiza district of Eastern Province.

The girls, aged 14 and 13 respectively, were defiled between Saturday evening and Monday morning this week.

In the first incidence, 28 year old Joseph Tembo allegedly defiled his 14- year- old cousin at the farm where both live.

This happened in the morning of Monday at Lucky’s farm in Chadiza.

The girl’s Aunt, Jane Banda said Tembo, who is her nephew took advantage of the minor whilst they were weeding a maize field at the farm.

She said Tembo allegedly took the girl by surprise when he forcefully grabbed and dragged her into the bush where he pinned her to the ground and had carnal knowledge with her.

Ms. Banda said after the ordeal, the girl rushed home whilst crying and reported the matter to her grandmother

She said when confronted, Tembo admitted to having defiled the girl saying he did not understand what had caused him to do what he did.

He voluntarily accepted to be taken to the police by his relatives where he was arrested and remanded in custody.

The girl was taken to the hospital where a medical report was obtained.

The medical report confirmed the presence of spermatozoa in the girl’s private parts.

She was also advised to go for an HIV test after three months and a pregnancy test after two weeks.

In the second incidence, polygamist of three wives is on the run after he allegedly defiled a 13- year old girl on Saturday evening.

The victim’s mother said she received a report that Ganizani Zimba of Kazimule farming block had dragged her daughter to the bush despite her resistance.

She followed up this and met her daughter who confirmed the matter to her.

She said she reported the matter to the neighbourhood watch committee, which was however reluctant to apprehend Zimba until he bolted.

The victim’s mother reported the matter to the police yesterday and a manhunt has since been instituted.
