Two weeks Sata not seen in public, will miss SADC presidents meeting

From the time he sneaked out of the country two weeks ago, nothing has been heard from president Michael Sata.

And now information has emerged that he will miss the 33rd Ordinary session of Southern Africa Development Community -SADC Heads of State and Government Summit is expected to take place on Friday, August 17th 2013 in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Zambia’s High Commissioner Designate to Malawi, Charles Banda told ZNBC that Sata will be represented by defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba as head of delegation.

On August 1, 2013, Sata sneaked out of the country for what State House sources said was a medical trip to UK.

He sneaked back into the country on 8 August 2013 but he has not been seen in public since. Apart from statement issued by other people in his name, the public has not heard him speak.

It is strange that Sata will miss the SADC meeting where his ally and only true friend in the region Robert Mugabe will be quizzed over the sham elections in Zimbabwe.
