The United National Independence Party UNIP says it will not support president Rupiah Banda in the 2011 general elections because he has not brought about any development in the country.
UNIP general secretary Jamima Banda says UNIP had supported president Rupiah Banda in the 2006 elections thinking that he will bring development to the people of Zambia considering the fact that he was a former member of UNIP.
Ms. Banda tells QFM in an interview that the ruling MMD has not added any value to the lives of the people during its twenty years in office.
She notes that UNIP will in next year’s elections stand independently adding that it has put everything in place in readiness for the elections.
Ms. Banda further expressed optimism of the party winning the forthcoming general elections.
