UNZA employees threaten to go on go slow

As is turning out to be the custom, University of Zambia employees may not get their August salaries on time.
This has forced the three University of Zambia staff Unions to threaten to go on go slow if they are not paid their August 2016 salaries by today Wednesday 31st August.
The three unions have further warned that all staff members will not participate in conducting end of year examinations scheduled to commence next week on Monday 5th September, 2016.
The resolutions were agreed during a joint meeting held yesterday (Tuesday) by the University of Zambia Lecturers and Researchers Union, the University of Zambia Professional Staff Union and the University of Zambia and Allied Workers Union.
The union leaders had a meeting with management and were told that it may not be possible for salaries to be paid by Wednesday 31st August.
This is according to a statement issued and signed by UNZALARU General Secretary Jason Mwanza, UNZAPROSU General Secretary Frank Lungu and UNZAAWU General Secretary Willa Mulabika.
