Lecturers and researchers at the University of Zambia have resolved to withhold student’s results for this semester. The lecturers are demanding to be paid their money, which they have not been paid for many months now.
University of Zambia Lecturers’ and Researchers Union (UNZALARU) General Secretary Jason Mwanza said his members will not even attend any meeting related to the students’ results.
‘Following the General Meeting held on 21st July 2015, and recognizing that the major demands relating to the settlement of contractual obligations have not been addressed, the Union agreed to withhold the results. Further, the Union agreed that it will not to attend any meetings at whatever level that may be called to consider the same,’ he said.
Mwanza said that a general Meeting will only be called when there shall be positive movement towards addressing the major demands relating to the contractual obligations.
