UPND beats PF in Copperbelt by-election

The highly contested local government by-election on the Coppebelt has been won by the ruling MMD.
The Mutaba ward election was contested by all the three major parties MMD, PF and UPND.
Before the elections, the PF and UPND had all said the result of the by election would show which party is more popular in the mining province.
The results show that the PF got the least results which were not even half of what the UPND got.
The results were MMD’s Gilbert Kaindu 477 votes, John Tuseko of the United Party for National Development 293. West Phiri of Patriotic Front got 80 votes.
