United Party for National Development (UPND) members in Kasama, Northern province have upped campaign activities ahead of the general elections.
Last week party members staged a solidarity match in support of their party President Hakainde Hichilema.
The over 250 UPND members who matched from their party offices situated at Kalafya building near the Kasama/Mbala roundabout to the President’s park took most Kasama residents by surprise.
Main organiser of the solidarity match Edward Musonda said the event was meant to show solidarity to their party president Hakainde Hichilema and also confound critics who think the party was nonexistent in Northern Province.
Musonda said contrary to the critics, UPND was slowly re-establishing itself as a house hold name in the province.
He revealed that his team which has been conducting door to door campaigns explaining the party manifesto has been receiving overwhelming support from people.
