UPND in Vubwi stops PF from cheating voters

IMG-20140908-WA0001The UPND Campaign team in Vubwi has confiscated two rolls of copper cables from PF cadres masquerading as Zesco employees. The PF cadres were about to start pretending to electrify some part of Vubwi.

The UPND says ‘Zesco’’s conduct to start electrification of Vubwi barely two days before parliamentary by-elections amounts to electoral corruption.

The cables the PF are using to cheat villagers of Vubwi are two small as can be seen in the picture below taken at the scene. An Electrical Engineer at the scene explained that the cables are two small for electrification.

” They just want to cheat the villagers. The cables are to small and there is no interlink of power cables from Chipata, Chadiza or nearby Mozambique to Vubwi,” he said.

Meanwhile, Police have continued showing biasness by refusing to keep the two Copper rolls confiscated from Zesco. Siavonga UPND Member of Parliament Kennedy Hamudulu disclosed in an interview that the Police at Vubwi Police station have refused to keep the cables. ” We brought the cables as evidence but the Police have refused to keep them. The ECZ has been informed,” Mr. Hamudulu said.
