UPND invites members to stand as MPs

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has invited members wishing to contest this year’s elections as MPs and councillors to apply.
The party says it is now ready to lead the effort toward realising the dream of a better Zambia through ‘real change’. According to the information posted on UPND president Hakainde Hichilema’s official website, UPND believes real change espouses freshness, modernity and democracy.
‘In order to achieve this, the party has begun the process of assembling a history making and self motivated winning team’, reads part of the statement.
Prospective MPs are required to pay one million Kwacha while local government candidates are required to pay fifty thousand Kwacha.
According to the statement, application forms can be found here http://www.hakainde.com/wdownloads/MP_Candidates_Application_Form.pdf
The UPND is expected to launch the ‘Real Change’ campaign this Saturday in Kanyama compound where HH will be declared presidential candidate.
