UPND members join PF

About six UPND Livingstone Constituency Executive officials and some grassroots members have ditched their party to join the Patriotic Front, according to ZNBC.
The UPND members who were led by former party deputy Campaign Coordinator for the Livingstone by-elections, Benard Mulenga says senior member have left UPND with other members to join the PF on reasons that they and their followers are tired of being in the opposition.
Speaking during the defections in Livingstone on Monday, Mr. Mulenga says it is better to work with the government of the day for the benefits of the nation as the PF’s manifesto means well to Zambians.
Mr. Mulenga says that there is no need to criticize the PF because it has clearly indicated its intentions to better the standard of living for the people of Zambia.
And receiving the defectors, Southern Province Minister Obvious Mwaliteta has accused the UPND Members of Parliament of being against development as they have shunned meetings that have been called to strategize on the recently created districts in the Province.
Mr. Mwaliteta has urged the PF members to embrace new comers as the party belongs to all Zambians hence the need to have NO party cards.
And PF Southern Province Youth Secretary Brian Hapunda says his party is not interested in finger pointing as Zambians will not benefit from mudslinging.
Mr. Hapunda says PF is a focused party and that the more reason it managed to win support from Zambians in the September 20, 2011 tripartite elections.
And a comment from UPND proved futile by press time.
