UPND mops Kalomo

The UPND has retained all the three constituencies in Kalomo district.

In Mapatizya UPND candidate Clive Miyanda polled 9 thousand 8 hundred and 26 votes followed by MMD’s Llyod Jembo who got 3 thousand 8 hundred and 92 votes.

Independent candidates Isaac Bbumelo and Louis Siampanzanga got 4 hundred and 43 and 3 hundred and 32 votes respectively.

PF’s candidate Gudson Muuzu got 1 hundred and 36 votes whilst Walter Siabona an independent candidate polled 1 hundred and 3 votes.

The UPND also won in all the seven wards in Mapatizya.

Kalomo District Electoral Officer, Alfred Mungalu confirmed the Mapatizya results to ZNBC in Kalomo Thursday morning.

And In Dundumwezi constituency, UPND’s Edgar Sing’ombe polled 14 thousand 9 hundred and 60 votes, with his closest rival Sebastian Hambokoma of the MMD getting 1 thousand 3 hundred and 25 votes.

PF’s Rodwell Mweetwa only managed 353 votes.

And out of the six wards UPND scooped five whilst one ward was scooped by the Patriotic Front.

The Returning Officer, Dr. Max Chombe declared Mr Sing’ombe duly elected Member of Parliament.

He said the elections were conducted in a peaceful manner.

Kalomo Central UPND Member of Parliament Request Muntanga has also retained his seat.
