UPND rubbishes Kapita’s claims

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has rubbished claims by its former vice president Richard Kapita that more members will leave the party due to Hakainde Hichilema’s bad leadership.
UPND vice president for politics Canisius Banda described Kapita’s claims as wishful thinking because Hichilema was currently the most popular politician in the country.
Dr Banda boasted that the UPND has continued to grow despite the claims being made by Kapita who recently defected to the Patriotic Front (PF).
The PF is struggling to show that the UPND is losing popularity ahead of the 2016 tripartite elections.
Meanwhile, National Restoration Party (NAREP) president Elias Chipimo has denied speculation that he wants to defect to the PF and contest for the Lusaka Central parliamentary seat under the PF.
Chipimo said he has no intention of joining the PF adding that the PF has a lot of things to answer to.
