The bank has also said Zambia’s current investment-led economic boom would be sustained despite the general elections the country would hold this year.
In its January 2011 African Economic Report, Standard Bank predicted that the Zambian economy would remain stable and the elections would not disrupt the growth path.
The report dubbed ‘Corporate and finance banking: African markets reviewed’, also predicts the real electoral battle in Zambia would be between the ruling MMD and the Patriotic Front (PF) as the opposition’s pact with United Party for National Development (UPND) seemed to be falling apart.
But UPND spokesperson says that it is totally a false analysis with a hidden agenda.
