UPND suspends Panji, beats up MMD cadre

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has suspended former president Kenneth Kaunda’son Panji.
UPND secretary General Wistone Chibwe said in Lusaka Tuesday evening that apart from masquerading as a member of the party, Panji Kaunda has been issuing statements inimical to the interest of the UPND.
Chibwe said that Panji has been served with a suspension letter and given seven days to exculpate himself.
A few days ago, Panji said on a local radio that he will support Patriotic Front president Michael Sata in this year’s general elections.
Panji’s father Kenneth Kaunda is on record saying that Michael Sata is not fit to rule Zambia.
Meanwhile, UPND thugs in Monze district have reportedly beaten up one of the cadres who were said to have defected to the ruling MMD over the weekend.
A Mwale has been since hospitalised in Monze general hospital after beein attacked by suspected UPND thugs.
