UPND veep GBM says will remain MP for Kasama

New UPND Vice president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba commonly known as GBM say that he will not quit as PF Member of Parliament for Kasama.

Speaking at mini ‘rally’ when he was officially announced as the new Vice president for Administration, GBM said he will remain as a MP for Kasama.11202668_1009700162396092_7497088048842683116_n

GBM said he would only quit his Parliamentary seat he holds on PF ticket if the opposition MPs serving in PF government also resign.

He said this will be a test case of the judiciary. He said PF has been appointing MPs from the opposition questioning why it wrong for UPND to appoint him.

“Yesterday, (President) Lungu was saying we shall meet in Kasama. I am not going to resign, why should I waste my money? I will only resign if the MPs they have appointed also resign,” said GBM amid cheers from hundreds of UPND Supporters who thronged the press briefing turning it into a rally.

And UPND president Hakainde Hichilema said PF was testing the bitterness of its own medicine.

Hichilema said the UPND has just followed what the PF has been doing appointing it’s MPs. He said the UPND was now clever and has caught the PF off-guard.
