UPND vows to arrest Chama

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has vowed to effect citizen’s arrest on PF Secretary General Davies Chama if the police does not arrest him within 48 hours effective Sunday for the alleged shooting of a UPND cadre in Mulobezi.
But Minister of Home Affairs Davies Mwila has warned the UPND not to interfere with police investigations.
UPND Deputy Secretary General Kuchunga Simusamba however said calling for the arrest of a suspect is not in any way interference with police investigations and challenged the police to name the owner of the gun that was used to shoot the UPND member.
Simusamba said the victim identified the culprit hence the police should desist from intimidating citizens on clear issues.
The UPND gave a 48 hours ultimatum to the police to arrest Davies Chama failure to which the party will effect a citizen’s arrest on Chama.
