UPND warns of retaliation in Mufumbwe

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has warned the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) to stop beating up people in Mufumbwe.

UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma this morning revealed that the MMD has continued the trail of violence in Mufumbwe despite having lost the bye-election a long time ago.

Kakoma warned that if the MMD continues beating people in the area, the opposition party will be forced to defend its members and there will be serious trouble in the area.

The UPND has also accused the MMD of working with chiefs in the area to evict from chiefdoms people who voted for the opposition.

And Kakoma has mocked the MMD over its announced intention to petition the results of Mufumbwe.

Kakoma wondered why the ruling party has not going to court up to now. He said his party is waitng for the MMD to go to court so that the opposition can demonstrate its superiority in the region.
