A campaign aimed at pressing for the country’s new constitution and subsequent resignation of Vice President George Kunda has been launched in Southern Province.
The campaign dubbed “Green T-shirt” is under the auspices of the Non-Governmental Organizations’ Coordinating Council (NGOCC).
Officiating at the launch of the campaign in Zambia’s tourist capital, Livingstone, Reverend Jane Kaluba said the campaign is in response to the uninspiring manner in which Government conducted the recent constitution making process.
Reverend Kaluba said the campaign is meant to warn the architects of the failed national constitution making process.
She also noted the need for an all-inclusive constitution, which takes into account the rights of women and children, who she said are the most disadvantaged in society.
Reverend Kaluba disclosed that the campaign will soon be extended to the country’s other eight provinces.
