By Chali Mulenga in Livingstone-Vice president George Kunda has described the Patriotic Front and United Party National Development (PF UPND) pact as useless as it has failed to dislodge the MMD in Chitambo bye election.
He said the pact had put in place everything for them to win the bye election but had failed as his party had won with good margin.
He said the bye election result in the Chitambo had proved that the pact was between Sata and Hakainde and was not on the good the ground.
“The pact doesn’t exist on the ground, Sata is busy campaigning for people to vote for him in 2011 whilst HH was busy campaigning on his own”, the vice president revealed.
He said in Bemba “Ba ngoshe babili teti bekale i chulu chimo the translated it as “two cobra can not live in the same anti hill”, so the pact can not work he stressed.
He said that MMD was the party for the future as the pact would remain useless in a shell and he urged people to join MMD.
He appealed to people in Zambia to support president Banda as he was running an all inclusive government.
The vice president revealed that his party was slowly getting in roads in all parts of the country like northern and Luapula province as the political mood was changing in the provinces.
He commended MPs from the pact for supporting bills that had been brought to parliament this sitting that had been enacted into law.
And southern province minister Munkombwe speaking earlier said the even if the party had lost the local council bye election in Livingstone, he was grateful to the people of Chitambo for voting for the MMD.
He noted that political graph was changing as where the MMD had lost with big margin, the margin was now narrow.
He said the people in the country were able to see the development that the government was delivering to their community.
He outlined that a lot of development pertaining to the roads in the province were being under taken.
