Vubwi residents sharing water holes with wild beasts

Over 42 villages in Zozwe area in Vubwi district have poor access to safe and adequate water forcing them to share water points with animals.

Area councilor Raphael Mboa said most villages in the area lack water points adding that people  draw water from a stream which is also the

source of water for domestic animals.

Mr Mbao told ZANIS in an interview that the situation was inhuman and also posed a health threat to the people.

He noted that the area has for a long time had no borehole, saying people have lived without improved access to drinking water.

Mr Mbao however called on government to ensure that people have access to safe drinking water in line with Millennium Developmental Goal

(MDG) number  seven .
