Watchdog launches scholarships

Zambia’s pioneer, most influential, and famous news website Zambian Watchdog has in, conjunction with selfless local businessmen launched five scholarships worth K5, 000 each.

Applications are hereby invited from needy Zambian students aged between 16 and 35 to compete for the scholarships worth K20, 000 in total.

The scholarship funds will be disbursed on 31 May 2017 and will be paid direct to the recipient’s education provider.

Any Zambian student registered at any recognised Zambian tertiary institution for any course/subject is eligible to apply provided that the course is at undergraduate level.

The scholarship can be for settling current tuition fees, clearing tuition fees arrears or paying for examinations. Recent graduates who had their certificates withheld for non payment of tuition, exam fees will be considered though preference will be given to current students.

To be considered for the scholarship, send us a motivation letter explaining why you deserve the K5, 000 scholarship.


In selecting the recipients, the Zambia Watchdog and partner sponsors will look at two things: needy of the applicant and academic excellency, potential. Academic excellency/potential can be evidenced by performance in previous exams. Note that having have failed one or two modules in the past does not negative academic excellency.
