Water blues hit Lufwanyama hospital

Editor,
A water crisis has hit Lufwanyama district hospital. Only pump that supplies water to the hospital and the houses has finally given up. The pump has become so useless that it is failing to pump water to the tank. The pressure has become so low that it can take a century for one to feel a bucket.
All efforts to repair it have proved futile. We can say, for the past three days the hospital has been operating without water.

It is not known when the hospital will buy a new pump. The monthly grant government gives to the hospital has not come through.
Unless something is quickly done, lives that could have been saved will be lost. May not just a mere pump be the cause of a family lossing a bread winner.
