We can´t leave MMD, it´s too sweet, Namulambe

Works and Supply minister Gabriel Namulambe and Labour minister Austin Liato have dismissed QFM radio reports that they want to abandon government to join the opposition Patriotic Front.

Namulambe told journalists in Lusaka Tuesday morning that there is nothing sweeter than being chairperson for elections in the MMD and being a cabinet minister.

He said he has never contemplated of defecting to the opposition especially the PF.

He said if he had any intentions of resigning from the MMD he would have left at the time he was fired as Science and technology minister by president Rupiah Banda.

Namulambe said that he is working with 15 chiefs from the Copperbelt who have resolved to rally behind President Rupiah Banda.

And Labour minister Austin Liato described the story  that he intends to defect from the ruling party as a ploy aimed at causing confusion in the MMD.

He says he is very strong in his Kaoma central constituency and would not think of defecting to opposition and risk losing his parliamentary seat.
