Tourism and Arts Minister Jean Kapata, says plans to re-introduce a national airline have been delayed due to the death of former president Michael Sata.
Kapata told a round table meeting for Ministers of Tourism organized by the Hotel Investment Forum in Berlin, Germany on Thursday.
Kapata claimed that the establishment of a national airline was on course and that the project had only experienced a delay due to the death of President Michael Chilufya Sata in October last year.
She did not explain how the death of a president affected a separate project being handled by professionals with a set budget.
She told the gathering that included Ministers of Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Antigua and Macedonia, that the new Zambian President Edgar Lungu is committed to ensuring that the new national airline is established within the shortest time possible.
