A Patriotic Front Minister has diaclosed that Poverty levels have increased in Luapula Province by six per cent from the time the MMD government left government to date.
Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa who is also Kawambwa Central PF Member of Parliament and Provincial Party Chairperson disclosed this in Lusaka.
Speaking at the PF organised Interactive Forum, Mr. Chilangwa differed with most PF officials who claim the economy is doing well by stating that poverty levels in Luapula have increased in Luapula from 76 percent in 2011 to 82 percent in 2017. ” Poverty levels have increased in the last six to seven years in Luapula especially that most people depend on fishing and fish levels have dwindled” he told the forum that ia exclusively organised by the PF media team. He called on government to which he belongs to come up with other avenues of creating wealth in the Province.
