The UPND says ‘it is more than willing’ to substantiate its recent revelations of corruption in the purchase of 50,000 metric tons of Urea fertilizer from Saudi Arabia by government with documentary evidence.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has disclosed to Qfm News that it will consider the Information UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema gave to the commission in its ongoing inquiry on the allegations.
UPND Spokesperson Charles Kakoma told Qfm in an interview that his party was ready to provide additional information to the ACC to back the earlier letter the party leader wrote to the commission.
Mr. Kakoma who is also former Zambezi West Member of Parliament said the UPND has documented information on the alleged irregularities in the purchase of the said fertilizer by the government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
He said this is why the ACC will have no excuse but to probe the alleged corruption relating to the purchase of the 50 000 metric tons of Urea fertilizer by the government from Saudi Arabia.
The UPND says minister Bob Sichinga is at the centre of the corruption.
