Western Province deliberately marginalised by PF-Kaoma MP

Kaoma Central Member of Parliament Carlos Antonio has charged that the PF government has deliberately marginalised Western Province.

And Chongwe Member of Parliament Sylvia Masebo has expressed fears that many youths in her constituency may be disenfranchised due to the chaotic national registration card and voter’s card issuance exercise.

Antonio has further complained that the road leading to Western Province from Lusaka is one of the worst main road in the country.

He charged that Western Province was getting a raw deal in development as the PF was only concentrating development in areas where they have Members of Parliament and wondered why Chinsali should have two universities.

Antonia said the only thing that the PF government was taking to the province where bribes due to poverty levels.

‘There is nothing to talk about, they can only take advantage of our poverty through bribes,’ said Antonio.

On the issuance of voter’s cards and national registration cards, he complained that national registration cards were not being issued in Kaoma yet voter’s cards are being issued.

And Chongwe Member of Parliament Sylvia Masebo has expressed fears that many youths in her constituency may be disenfranchised due to the chaotic national registration card and voter’s card issuance exercise.

Masebo said at Lwiimba polling station, over 800 youths have been queuing for national registration cards but they are not being issued. She said voter’s cards were instead being issued but at a very slow rate with a maximum of five cards being issued per day.
