SACCORD Executive Director Boniface Chembe has asked the PF government to explain the criteria being used for holding meetings in this country.
Mr. Chembe wondered why PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba was being allowed to hold campaign meetings in areas where elections will be held when opposition political party leaders were recently hounded out.
UPND president Hakainde Hichilema was literally chased from Malambo and other areas of Eastern province because the PF government claimed there would be by-elections in those areas.
MMD president Nevers Mumba is the recent one to have been chased by PF police from Petauke and other areas of Eastern province because government claimed there will be by-elections in these areas.
But Kabimba, who is campaigning for PF presidency in case his ailing boss vacates office for whatever reasons in currently in Eastern province holding meetings and featuring on various radio stations without any interference.
Several diplomats and civil society organisations have voiced their concerns over the selective application of the Public Order Act.
Recently the UPND team was also barred from holding mobilization meetings in Muchinga province and their featuring on radio Isoka FM has brought problems to the station management.
