Wina’s lie on Batoka hydro has exposed dysfunction in PF-Milupi

Alliance for Democracy and Development leader Charles Milupi has charged that the recent statement by Vice President Inonge Wina that load shedding will end next year has exposed the dysfunction existing in the PF.
Milupi has observed that it is practically impossible for the yet to be constructed Batoka hydro power station to produce 2,400 mega watts of electricity in 2018.
He explained that such projects take many years to complete adding that the Batoka project may take 6 to 10 years to be completed.
He wondered how the entire government machinery can allow the Vice President to issue a wrong and misleading statement.
‘This shows the dysfunction in the PF where you allow your Vice President to give information that is technically incorrect, it will take 6 to 10 years for power to be produced at Batoka,’ Milupi said.
Vice President Inonge Wina lied while having dinner at the Zambian Mission in London on Tuesday that load shedding will end next year because the Batoka hydro power station will bring an extra 2,400 mega watts of power.
