The Kasamahas ordered for the immediate arrest of an elderly woman who is alleged sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy.
Magistrate Shadrick Chanda issued the order after the juvenile’s mother, who appeared in court on theft charges, complained that her son was co-cohabiting with an older woman.
She said juvenile son had become a delinquent s a result.
The mother told the court that at one time she was told to stop interfering in her son’s affair by the old woman after she found the two sharing a bed.
But Magistrate Chanda urged the mother to the juvenile to lodge a formal complaint with the police so that the elderly woman could be apprehended and charged with.
He strongly warned her that if she does not report the matter to the police, she will instead be charged with child negligence.
Magistrate Chanda observed that it was morally wrong for the elderly woman with three children to have sex with a boy, who is fit to be her son.
The Magistrate further urged the Young Women Christian Association ( ) in Kasama to follow up the matter with keen interest and ensure that the culprit was brought to book.
Meanwhile, the juvenile implicated in the sexual affair with the mature woman has pleaded guilty to theft of clothes contrary to section 272 of the penal code chapter 87 of Laws of Zambia.
