You will make Pilato popular if you arrest him-Mulongoti

Peoples Party president Mike Mulongoti has warned that arresting musician Pilato over the ‘Alungu anabwela’ song will just make him more popular.
And Mulongoti has charged that the Patriotic Front (PF) is scooping by-elections because of state resources at their disposal because of incumbancy.
Mulongoti has further stressed that if Pilato is arrested he will compose another song about being arrested.
Speaking when he featured on Pan African Radio Wednesday morning, Mulongoti observed that the constitution provides for freedom of expression and if any individual feels defamed they are free to seek recourse in courts of law than resorting to arrests.
He said when the song titled ‘Ba Chairman’ was released during President Kaunda’s time no one was arrested and the President only loughed about it.
Mulongoti advised the PF government not to be extra sensitive to everything but to learn to maximize tolerance levels.
And Mulongoti has charged that the Patriotic Front is scooping by-elections because of state resources at their disposal because of incumbancy.
He said even the MMD were winning all by-elections when they were in power but it is no longer the case after they were kicked out of government.
Mulongoti said if the PF lose by-elections now it will be a disaster hence they are doing everything in order to win.
On the MMD Mulongoti said it was shameful that the former ruling party was now even failing to participate in by-elections.
He said the MMD was dismembering itself and was now a shadow of what it used to be because all vision carriers were evicted from the party by what he termed ‘strangers’ who are used to being undertakers in political parties.
He said MMD members are now confused because they don’t know who to follow between Nevers Mumba and Rupiah Banda.
