Youth day: Timothy Walamba’s rejected son speaks out on father’s cruelity, selfisness

Dear Editor,

Titus With Vernon Mwanga

I thank you most profoundly for your willingness to accord me an opportunity to express my grievances. Your network is indeed an icon of democracy and justice in Zambia. I hope that through you I shall be able to solicit moral and other supports.

I am Titus Mulenga Walamba, born on 10th December, 1984 from Catherine Khunga a trained community development worker for Chingola Municipal Council, and Timothy Mwaba Walamba a Mine Workers Union of Zambia (MUZ) Chairman and Member of Central Committee (MCC) in the Kaunda regime. My Mother was a widow who had fallen victim of the venomous charm of Tim typical of every politician. She was lured into believing that he was going to give her heaven on earth, after he had lavished his insatiable appetites he dumped her like she meant nothing to him, when she had fallen pregnant he rejected her saying, “I am not the first man to have a child with a mistress!”. my mother was defenseless fearing for her life she could not take any action against this great politician.
I was forced to grow up in the midst of the cruel face of poverty and hardships notwithstanding the fact that my biological father was a great politician who lived in wealthy and power. I bare a name which is not common, as a result everyone begun to identify me to this great rich political leader, the only shameful thing was that my mother was a mere civil servant with little income to sustain the family.

After much perserverance, I excelled in school, my mother died in 2000 when I was only doing grade 9, I was just about 16 years at that time, being an only child support from my half brothers and sisters proved futile. As a last resort I attempted to trace Walamba to solicit for support but he was very hostile and insisted that he had financial difficulties of his own and could not spare anything on me. with tears dripping I left to solicit alms from wellwishers. This man could not even attend my mothers funeral.

In 2005 I was accepted to study at the University of Zambia, but I could not afford tuition fees, so I had to learn how to fend on my own. As luck would have it the late FTJ Chiluba who was in the labour movement with Walamba had learnt of my predicament, hence he became some sort of a sympathiser in exchange that I organise him students to show him sympathy during his rallies and court sessions. This support was short lived as it was built on flimsy grounds.
Later on RB came on the scene with a desparate need for support in his 2008 by-elections campaigns, I became a student representative and travelled around the country with RB aiding his campaigns. Even after the elections I continued to be a think tank to the MMD government, I submitted several papers advising the party and the President on how to deal with various issues. But all this I did out of my love for the nation, and the rough upbringing I had hoping that a better Zambia was possible. But to date I realise that POLITICIANS ARE ALL MANIPULATIVE PARASITES, WHO PRY ON THE WEAKNESSES OF THE POOR, IN THE SAME WAY THAT MUM WAS DUPED BY WALAMBA, IN THE SAME WAY THAT HE REJECTED ME. THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE ARE BEEN DUPED. MY STORY OF PAIN IS ONE THAT MOST ZAMBIANS CAN RELATE TO. I HAVE BEEN USED AND ABUSED. I HAVE LOST MY HUMAN VALUE AND STRENGTH BECAUSE THESE PARASITES HAVE STOLEN IT FROM.

I wish to let the world know that Timothy Mwaba Walamba has no heart for anyone but himself, if he cannot defend the plight of his own family how much more that of the nation? This cruel old man his clinging on to power only to fatten his dying bones. I have no doubt that Mr. Editor you shall edit this letter, to tone down on the sacarsm and pain evident in it, but if it was up to me I would rather it remains as it is to show just how sad I am.

THESE OLD MEN GOVERNING US ARE LITERALLY LIVING ON BORROWED TIME, SOONER OR LATER THE GRAVES WILL CLAIM THEIR CORRUPT BODIES, THUS, YOUTHS MUST ARISE AND BE LEADERS TODAY OR RISK IGNOMINY.

I HAVE ATTACHED PHOTOS AS PROVE OF MY IDENTITY.

Yours Titus Mulenga Walamba.
