Zambeef limited has disclosed that it has incurred losses due the malicious media campaign that it embalms its beef products. And Health Minister, Joseph Kasonde has revealed that the two Zambeef trucks that were intercepted at Katimamulilo Border post have been released after the meat they were carrying tested negative of Aromatic Aldehydes.
Zambeef board Chairperson Dr. Jacob Mwanza says sales have tumbled resulting from intense media coverage following recent reports that the company was importing offals containing a chemical known as Aromatic Aldehyde.
Dr. Mwanza also said Zambeef will not lay of workers despite incurring losses.
He says it would be unwise to go by such a move at a time when the country is grappling with high unemployment levels.
