Zambia has dropped three places on the Forbes doing business in Africa, and a further three places on the world rankings.

While PF vuvuzelas and hired professors are singing praises that Zambia has been raked number 7 this year, the truth is that this is a deterioration. Just last year, Zambia was ranked number four in Africa and number 70 in the world. This year, Zambia has dropped to number 7 in Africa and number 73 in the World.

In 2014, Zambia was only beaten by Mauritius, South Africa and Botswana.

But this year it has also been beaten by three more African counties Morocco, Cape Verde and Rwanda.

We wonder if UNZA dons being quoted by Times of Zambia and Daily mail are actually literate if they can’t do simple research. No wonder educational standards at UNZA are not improving.

Forbes rates 145 countries on 11 metrics, including property rights, innovation, taxes, technology, corruption, freedom (personal, trade and monetary), red tape, investor protection and stock market performance.
