Zambia is in a mess right now

Disclaimer: Please do not insult me for my views. Am just trying to think in another way and see both sides of the but am no ones enemy When I was in seminary, (priesthood training), we were taught a principle called acculturation, meaning when you go among a people, study the existing culture of a people you find yourself amongst and try to study their culture and adopt it..live as one among them For example, if you go among a people who do not wear shoes, you can’t be changing timberlands and Italian made fine leather daily when your whole hood can’t afford even a simple maliposa. It’s not that you can’t afford the shoes, it’s just that you choose discretion and decide to be one among the people you find yourself with So every year between May and August, for three months we had to go and live among different peoples of different cultures so as to understand other people and how they live. Before we left, We were taught you can never serve people if you didn’t understand them. So every year we would be spread out, from Europe, to South America, Congo, Kenya, Bukina Faso, even Muslim countries like Turkey and even here in Zambia to a place we’re you are not from..All to give you a wholistic understanding and world view… And we learnt a lot about people, mutual respect, co-existence and just generally understood the world in a better way.. What am I trying to point at? President Lungu presides over a country of 15 million Zambians, in 90 percent of whom are poor. The president therefore must be the first to be discreet and not appear lavish. President John Pombe Magufuli is standing out in this respect of a leader being modest and discreet In my opinion, in a country were poverty, unemployment, HIV are so prevalent, it a mockery for the head of state to attend and grace and dance functions were useless hats are sold for 185,000, pictures go for 300,000 plus and ties are sold At ridiculous prices. That is a slap in the face to the common man and the unemployed youth struggling to get even a 20 kwacha to be photocopy his CV and results from the nearby internet Cafe What is the president trying to tell us? That it’s ok for him and those who surround him and the rest of us can buzz off right? This is a real insult to the suffering and struggling youth and The populace in general. Such stunts should be done in private. They have every right but a leader must also practice discretion. I mean what are they telling us? If you can spend 185,000 on a hat, how much more cash do you have stuck somewhere else? Secondly can you provide concrete traces for your sources of such incomes?? I work in money markets and from my understanding, every transaction above 10,000 dollars must be registered with the central bank and proof of sources of funds declared and verified. That transaction was 18.5 thousand dollars or somewhere there. In a serious country officers from ACC are supposed to follow that fellow and question him. Now because we are living in a lawless police state were justice is applied selectively, am sure that guy is at peace drinking some fine whiskey in his house and nobody will dare question… Truth is that fellow just bought his way to bigger contracts, he now has access to higher offices and will probably get a 500,000 kwacha contract in no time. That’s the sort of hypocritical society we are in, were we put God in front but the deeds done in the dark are so shameful and disgusting… Truth is the President has lost a lot of support. The Sata phenomenon which made them win is now almost fully faded. We now have a country of a lot of undecided voters. Undecided in the fact that people are no longer sure about the Lungu regime. Politically Zambia is in a mess. Those with ideas have no power and those power have absolutely no ideas
