The Zambian government has lost an appeal in a South African court to Vedanta.
A few weeks ago, a South African court granted Vedanta the right to drag the Zambian government to arbitration over the liquidation of KCM.
Zambia tried to challenge that judgment but has been told that the challenge lacks merit as the Zambian attorney general Likando Kalaluka and his team said nothing new in court.
But in Zambian courts, Likando Kalaluka wins the cases effortlessly, even without submitting anything.
This means that Vedanta will now proceed to arbitration and if it wins, can grab any property that belongs to Zambia anywhere in the world especially the planes that will be labelled ‘Zambian Airways ‘.
