Zambia loses to Cape Verde

Zambia has lost 2-1 to Cape Verde and has sunk to the bottom of the table after Mozambique drew 1 all with Niger.

The Chipolopolo, who looked running out of ideas whenever they had a ball, conceded in each half.

Zambia who scored a consolation through JACOB MULENGA seemed to have more trouble to deal with the ball whenever the fast passed Cape Verde had possession.

Zambia’s best chance came in the 44th minute but RAINFORD KALABA’s header was ruled offside.

Cape Verde is comfortable leaders of group (F) with six points after two rounds of matches.

And Mozambique is second with two points following their two stalements with Zambia last Sunday and Niger on Wednesday in Maputo.

Niger are third with two points while Zambia are now tail eders with just a point after two games.

The Zambia National Football Team’s failure could have well been anticipated following delayed departure to the Cape Verde.

The team which only left on the eve of the game, had to fly an over 8 hours distance and arrived in the morning just a few hours before kick off.

AND, football analyst PONGA LIWEWE had warned that Cape Verde Island is a very experienced team and the Chipolopolo needed to prepare adequately.

LIWEWE said the Cape Verde side is one of the top teams in Africa and has players who are well organised.

He warned that last minute preparations could not work well for the Zambian team.
