Zambia loses to Namibia

Zambia’s campaign in the CHAN qualifiers has started on a poor note, after the Chipolopolo Boys lost 2-1 to Namibia on Sunday

This was in the first leg qualifier of the 2016 Rwanda games played at Sam Nujoma stadium in Windhoek.

The loss to the Brave Warriors is number TWO in less than a month after Zambia’s elimination by the same team at the quarter final stage of the 2015 COSAFA regional tournament.

Zesco United’s Winstone Kalengo put Zambia ahead in the first half, with the Chipolopolo Boys dominating play.

But the lead was cut short when Willy Staphanus equalized for Namibia in the second half.

The equalizing goal seemed to have demoralized the Chipolopolo, who allowed the Brave Warriors to get a second and collect maximum points.

The return match will be played at Lusaka’s Nkoloma stadium on July 5, 2015.
