Zambia records 74 new cases of Covid-19

Minister of health Chitalu Chilufya claims 74 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours. According to Chilufya , this brings the cumulative total to 753.

He said Nakonde recorded 8 cases while 66 where picked from routine surveillance at the University Teaching Hospital.

He said other cases are from contacts of those already identified, from public alerts as well as routine health surveillance.

He also claimed that 5 more patients have been discharged bringing the cumulative number of cases to 753, with 188 recoveries, 558 active cases with the death toll at 7 while those discharged from quarantine stands at 4,270.

Chilufya said the continued geographical spread of the virus is a matter of concern but assured that stringent measures will continue to be implemented especially in ports of entry to avoid new transmission of the virus.
