Zambia to auction 100 bln kwacha in treasury bills

LUSAKA, May 19 (Reuters) – Zambia plans to issue a total of 100 billion Zambian kwacha ($20.08 million) in 91-day, 182-day, 273-day and 364-day treasury bills on Thursday, the central bank said on Wednesday.
The southern African country would also issue 120 billion Zambian kwacha in two-year, three-year, five-year, seven-year, 10-year and 15-year bonds in a regular auction on Friday, the bank said.
Zambia, Africa’s largest copper producer, issues treasury bills every week to meet government expenditure and control money supply.
