A Zambian is among six international students who were killed in a car crash in Tanzania, according to University of Dar-es-Salaam.
The Zambian has been identified as Chimuka Hamajata.
Others were Patrick Mubiru from Uganda; Nshaija Muganyizi, Dadi Kassim from Tanzania, Chikondi Chasowa and Josephine Kaleso from Malawi.
Vice Chancellor at University of Dar-es-Salaam , Prof. Rwekaza S. Mukandala said in a statement, explaining that the accident occurred on Saturday the 19th of November, 2011 wheb a group of 10 students were travelling Rwanda, on a study mission at the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology, were involved in a road accident.
“The accident occurred at Rusahunga, Biharamulo-Kagera Region.”
“Six of the students involved in the accident lost their lives. This was a group of international students pursuing a Masters course on Mathematical Modelling under the auspices of the Eastern Africa Universities Mathematics Programme (EAUMP).”
