Zambian ‘investor’ arrested in India

A Zambian national has been arrested in the Indian city of Bangalore, according to Indian media.

Nelson George Mangole was arrested by City Crime Branch (CCB) police on charges of attempting to cheat the owner of a pharmaceutical company by promising to triple US dollars, the Indian media quoted police officials.

The accused, Nelson George Mangole (36), befriended Renukumar, owner of a private firm Caretech Pharmaceuticals aboard a flight from Bangalore to Mumbai on February 23.

During his interaction, he told Renukumar that he was interested in becoming his business partner and would invest 200 million USD.

On March 2, Nelson upon returning to Bangalore landed up at Renukumar’s office and said he would triple the dollar amount, if Kumar arranged for some dollars.

Suspecting foul play, Kumar alerted the CCB sleuths who arrested the accused on Wednesday.
